LEARN BRAIDING TECHNIQUES FROM BEGINNER TO EXPERT.

What you will learn;

  • Definition of hair braiding, History and contemporary
  • How does hair grow and what causes damage and/or hair loss
  • Why do people braid, some braiding concerns and how to solve them
  • Benefits of being a braider/ braiding artist.
  • See and feel types of Hair Extensions; their sources, textures, colours, lengths
  • Types of hair braiding techniques and the hairs suitable to them
  • Understand the skill of parting/ sectioning hair and how to achieve a neat scalp parting
  • Learn the different ways of finishing your braids
  • Start and complete designing a full head of braid to see your creativity;
    • Braids:- micro braids, Bantu knots, feather tips, pixie; yarn; tree braids etc
    • Cornrows:- designer cornrows, Ghana/banana, criss-cross, zig-zag, interlocking
    • Weaves:- full cornrow, bonding, cornrow design, gel design, pony tails, latch hook
    • Twist:- african; Nubian; afro kinky; senegalese, two strand, comb, flat etc
    • Locks:- startup locks, silky locks, lock maintenance, lock weave, lock extension etc

How we train you;

  • We allow you the choice of the styles you want to get trained on.  
  • We show demonstrations of at least two ways to master your chosen technique.  
  • We ensure you plait a full mannequin head so you can see the result of your creativity.  
  • We give you the option to bring a live model and design their hair with your chosen style so you gain confidence in working with customers. 
  • We give you theoretical information on braiding and support it with handouts.  
  • We give you a completion certificate when you finish your course.  Minimum of 3 attended workshop is required

1. WIG MAKING WORKSHOP

    1. Hair extensions i.e frontals, weft bundles

    1. The course is divided into 2 parts; Must have completed Basic Cornrow workshop to be part of the Feed-In Cornrows
      1. Cornrows for Beginners: learn the art of installing basic cornrows with no extensions
      2. Feed-In Cornrows: Basic Cornrows with step by step addition of hair extensions. Available to seasoned braider.
